MARTY PRAGER
USATT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL COACH
Ranked in top five in Men’s singles in the US two times. Represented the US in the 1957 World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden. Manager-Coach of the Net and Paddle Table Tennis Club in Chicago for 15 years. Coach of the Nice, France Table Tennis Club for 6 years. Pro manager of Newgy’s Table Tennis Center in Miami, Florida for 10 years. In 1998 he was chosen Developmental Coach of the Year by the US Olympic Committee. In addition to producing 15 Internationals in the US and France, he has developed (among others) US Open Runner-up Men’s Singles (1962) Norbert Vande Walle, Keith Alban, only junior to win U10, U12, U14, and U16 events in one US Open. Keith also made the US Men’s team at age 15. Student Randy Cohen became Florida Men’s Champion at age 13, Terese Terranova, 1987 World Wheelchair Champion and double gold medalist at the 88’ Paralympics Seoul, Korea. During his 6 years of coaching in France he placed three students on the French International team, Herve Schiavetti, Frank Vinitzki, and Robert Prantoni. Coach Prager now coaches some 40 students at the Chinese Cultural School. Among them are students ranked from #1 to top 10 in their age groups. The current program at CSCCA is one of the top 2 junior programs in the US.
TERESE TERRANOVA
USATT NATIONAL LEVEL COACH
Ranked #1 in the World in 1987 and remained ranked in the top 3 in the World for the next 9 years. 1986-87 World Wheelchair Champion in Singles, Doubles and Team Brisbane, Australia. Double Gold Medalist in 1988 Paralympics Seoul, Korea. Bronze Medalist in both 92’Barcelona and 96’ Atlanta Paralympics. Member of the 2000 Parallympic Team, where she got to the quarter finals. Senior Women’s Champion US Open 1987. Coach Terranova has won numerous Wheelchair National Championships as well. I was the first US female International Umpire. I helped Mr. Prager develop Keith Alban, Randy Cohen, and many more. On my own I coached Ariel Montalvo 6 times Florida State Champion. I coach full time along side Marty Prager helping to develop the 40 plus students at the Chinese Cultural School where we have developed both National and International Junior Athletes.
